Oops! Does this mean I should not compile anything else on this computer
for Slackware 7.1? This is my partner's computer and he will be compiling
C++ programs on it so maybe I will leave this newest library. Is there
anything else that should be added from SW81 to make it a complete set of
compiling libraries? The computer has an 8G hard drive so no space
problem. There were five files that I added for compiling - should I
replace the other four as well to get something consistent?

egcs linuxinc binutils gmake - they were all relatively small and easy to
download

So what do you suggest I do now? If I leave the new glibc how do I remove
the old one? I recall doing a removepkg once when libraries were involved
stopped BL2 from working.

ldd should tell me this. I think SW81 also uses a different kernel.

I will probably remove Opera 6 in a few days once I am sure Opera 7 works.
Just delete the two directories. The symlink already points to 7.
