Then don't listen to radio shows :-) .. I was thinking about as a child
telling my father my thumb hurt because I hit it with ther hammer, and he
replied "well, don't hit it with the hammer". Those shows and websites are
people just like you , me , and everyone else. They are are guessing.
If we are in a true 'depression' then it isn't bad , like everyone claimed it
would be. Nationally, Unemployment is still under 8%, my neighbors still
have BMWs and Mercedes, no homes in my neighborhood have been foreclosed --
and this is Phoenix, along with Las Vegas, and Miami, one of the three worst
hit locations in the country.
Everyone on this list can still afford the internet; Most everone I see, of
every age, race, sex, etc, is still walking around with a damn cellular
telephone and talking to other people on their cellular telephones.
Things might become bad or even really , really bad, as many of the 'doom and
gloom" crowd are predicting. or; maybe they won't be quite so bad; or mayber
this or maybe that. The people I hear crying loudest that the seventh circle
of hell is about to envelope, have been missing life for the past twenty
years while they predicted, wrongly, the same thing.
Now, they just might be right, but many of them are also hoping to see
others suffer , and thinking that will somehow make them happier and their
life better. That never works .
I read a lot of the same sites as you, but I don't 'listen' to the loud
voices-- I can't stand it when loud people talk over other loud people. It
is vulgar and aesthetically, to my hearing, completely unappealling.
I can read thru, quickly, a web site or web post, and delete in an instant if
I find it without merit, for me. I won't listen to loudmouths long enough to
make a decision on their merit.
Hyper-inflation; dis-inflation; stag-flation; deflatiobn; who knows. I
certainly care and if I thought someone knew which direction and when I would
become their disciple. No one knows, even the smart ones are guessing. I
listened to Krugman and Roubini, and others on Meet The Press this am. They
are much better eduacted than me, so I guess that their guesses would be
better educated guesses than mine, but they don't even have the same guesses
as each other.
Anway, you stated your opinion and mine is that my opinion is likely as wrong
as the next person's. I think, where you are, with the people you are with,
doing wehat you are doing is smart, regardless of which guesses by which
group of prognosticators becomes true.
When I see certain neighborhoods in Connescticut ablaze, or certain streets
in NYC, I'll think life might become a little more difficult for the rich.
So far, it looks like it is going to become "bargain hunting time" for the
people with resources.
I just wish I could be 21 again, but wishes don't work much better than
guesses. Keep me informed and your ideals ; political; gardening, and
otherwise.
You are a smart lady , who is finding her own way; maybe you will end up
helping me find mine :-)
