Well at least they adhere to industry standards unlike MS..

Now, all that said, I have considered picking up a used G4 machine just
for the hardware, and running some nice Linux or BSD variant on it. The
beauty of that hardware, without the painful new-hardware-price or
gawd-must-I-deal-with-Apple software. :)

My 3+ year old 667Mhz powerbook is still way more useable than the PC laptop that I was supplied at work, and it's less than a year old. TCO is way less...
