Bev; Did you follow the links? It doesn't say what WND says it does. WND says:
'The website of the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands, however, states clearly the certification of live birth touted by the Obama campaign, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs and a host of other Obama defenders is not acceptable as a form of identification to qualify under this program. '
It doesn't say that at all. In fact, it negates their argument (why WND isn't taken seriously...ALWAYS check their 'facts'...they are frequesntly wrong). The Department of Hawaiian Homelands website says:
"Although original birth certificates (Certificates of Live Birth) are preferred for their greater detail, the State Department of Health (DOH) no longer issues Certificates of Live Birth. When a request is made for a copy of a birth certificate, the DOH issues a Certification of Live Birth." (see full text below)
Obama has a Certification of Live Birth...i.e. what the State Department of Health issues. Note, they NO LONGER ISSUE the Certificate of Live Birth everyone says Obama is hiding. He didn't "pick" anything. He was issued what they issue.

Primary Documents
Birth certificates (Certificates of Live Birth and Certifications of Live Birth) and Certificates of Hawaiian Birth are the primary documents used to determine native Hawaiian qualification.
The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands accepts both Certificates of Live Birth (original birth certificate) and Certifications of Live Birth because they are official government records documenting an individual's birth. The Certificate of Live Birth generally has more information which is useful for genealogical purposes as compared to the Certification of Live Birth which is a computer-generated printout that provides specific details of a person's birth. Although original birth certificates (Certificates of Live Birth) are preferred for their greater detail, the State Department of Health (DOH) no longer issues Certificates of Live Birth. When a request is made for a copy of a birth certificate, the DOH issues a Certification of Live Birth.

At the bottom of this page I have pasted another paragraph you wrote in
another post because I feel that this link addresses both posts.

or

Remember that there are three types of 'birth certificates' in Hawaii,
and he picked the one that is legally weak.

There are others, too. It's all so bogus; a Late Birth Certificate
(mentioned in the above petition) clearly SAYS it's a Certificate of
Hawaiian Birth, an 'after the fact' certificate, not the 'certificaton of
live birth' Obama has shown. Even the bill to amend the Federal Election
Campaign Act of 1971 requires candidates to provide what Obama has provided.
Maybe I don't understand the whole 'long form' thing. I've never had one.
The short form has been all I ever needed. How many people actually
have/need a long form birth certificate? I just got a copy of mine from the
state a couple of years ago, and there was no choice long or short form,
they just sent the short form. Did the other candidates supply a long form
birth certificate? Just trying to figure out why people are so obsessed
about this..it's been a rainy day, so there isn't much else to do.
And
I have to wonder if he realizes that every time he addresses one rumor, 5
more pop up. There is absolutely no satisfying some of his critics. If it
were me, I'd put some effort into supplying documents to address people's
concerns, but I'm not him. I also wonder if he's just thumbing his nose at
his critics because he can (not a good stance for a President to take). I'm
not a big fan of Obama's policies, but I don't like the witch hunt, either.
People called for his birth certificate, he provided it, with statements
from Hawaiian officials that it's legit, but that's not good enough.
