I did indeed write the program, from some _formulas_ I found online. It was quite easy to modify it to accept any latitude and longitude, typed in from the keyboard, which I had planned to do anyway. Soon my partner told me how to create the "release version" (I hate our compiler) and I emailed it to you. You passed me off to your husband. We had some trouble figuring out how many minutes of correction were needed for a given longitude. Somehow he came up with the same answer I did, for your place. I thought it was a triumph, but I guess he never told you about it. You now have a good program that should work for your longitude, if you just enter "46 minutes" for the longitude correction (if I recall correctly), and type in your latitude when prompted. I expected to hear _something_ about it.

I think I do remember you and Ron discussing it, too. So we both conversed with you, which is hardly what you described as "not a word in response". You made it sound like we totally ignored you, which was not the case.
As to why you never heard anything further on the subject, well, we never got around to actually building the sundial or fiddling with the program-it's still on the to do list. I still want to do it, just haven't had the time. Remember Bill, that I now work full time plus, AND still try to do stuff here on the farm, so I don't have as much time for email and e-lists as I used to have. Many posts are skimmed or not read at all. I am sorry that I hurt your feelings by not trying to figure out the program, and I 'passed you off' to Ron only because I am not very computer program literate, whereas he used to write basic stuff years ago and I thought he might understand it more.

But that's just the beginning. Lynda's post tonight about water having nothing to do with soil pH was so off the money, yet I didn't hear you complain.

Perhaps because I just now got home from work and and now reading email...I have to pick up my son from the airport in Atlanta in the AM, and I have dinner to cook, chores to do, and a house to clean..I've had a VERY busy week, and am working on about 10 hours sleep for the week.
And frankly, after thinking chemistry at work all day, the very freaking LAST thing I want to do is to come home and think about it some more, then write it out, making sure I haven't made some Mickey Mouse mistake for you or someone else to pounce on..
I'm sure that I will eventually get around to analyzing what everyone has written as this is a topic that actually interests me greatly, but it might not be immediately as I would like to spend some time with my son whom I haven't seen in 1.5 years..understand? Cut me some slack, okay?

As for the ads, I think it's fair to say that a half-dozen daily bushbashings (none of them yours) constitute ADS.

Ok...at least now I understand what you mean by ads..
Rarely, do I enter the political foray on this list...but for the record, I'm a libertarian (and no, I don't like the Libertarian candidate just as some Democrats don't like Hillary and some Republicans don't like Bush) I actually dislike all the political discussions, and if you go back and really look at the history of the list, I have a history of interrupting those discussions to try to revert the list discussion back to homesteading...

Bev, off to cook dinner, and thankful that I no longer have to haul water to do it.

Bevanron of EarthNSky Farm Sleep well tonight, for somewhere in the ocean's depths, MY son is protecting YOUR freedom.
