David gave a link for a binary that he, I (and possibly Steven) have
gotten to install and run on BL3.4--so long as you add the other libraries

Could Steven or someone post the relevant information about where to get the binary and what other libraries are needed with it, and how to use it with FreeDOS and Win98? It is scattered among many postings. Also the BL3 image suited for use with qemu - or can we use the DOS-loop fs.img plus any bzimage? Someone please summarize.

David listed in his recent post about how to do this. Those are some bits
from Slack 9.0. It might not be as simple as it might seem to get your
scanner to work from a Win9x instance running under qemu, though. It
emulates hardware, and I'm not sure it can access a real parallel port
(assuming your scanner uses a parallel port). Or is it USB--in which case
it likely won't work because BL3 doesn't handle USB too well. You might
want to have a go at reading the qemu documentation to find out how
easy/difficult it might be to get your scanner to work from a qemu Win9x
instance. I may drag out the actual hardware tonight and see if Ifinally
meet with success at installing Win98 under BL3.4 and qemu.

James
