Around here, we call the cross box a tool box. Lots of guys have them on
their pickups, usually diamond-plate construction.

I don't know if I've ever seen a cruise box. The only thing I can think of
like what you're describing is one of those metal storage containers which
can be used either cross country on a trailer or stacked in the hold of a
ship. And those are a lot bigger than 4 feet. The one behind the building
where I work is about 8 feet tall, 20 feet long, and 12 feet wide. Wouldn't
fit in a pickup.
