Steven,

I am trying to modify the BL2 RAM version in order to use it with
Sindi's 2.4.31 kernels. The main purpose is to get a small tool
that helps to back up contents of USB storage devices to CD-ROM.

I took the old basiclinux.gz, added the usb modules for 2.4.31 and
replaced links with the mini-mc.tgz add-on from the BL2 site. So far
I am able to to change memory sticks in the same way as CD-ROMs and
floppies. Now, on /dev/ram0 there is little more than 200kb left.
If I want to include cdrtools into basiclinux.gz I will need to have
a much larger RAM disk.

Is there a way to change the size of /dev/ram0? Is this size
in some relation to the line

CONFIG_BLK_DEV_RAM_SIZE=4096

in the Config file used while compiling the kernel? Would Sindi be
able to change this figure, eg. to 8192 and to create a custom
kernel for my application? Which other changes will be necessary?

Christof
