Which mindset I have, and perhaps you, and perhaps a score or so other people
here. That leaves about 345 million more people to go.

As has also ben remonstrated here, people aren't going to do that. They
aren't going to start conserving water until the well runs dry.

The danger here, says I, is with Obama's 'redistribute the pie' promises.
People imagine that under Obama there will be no more war or corporate
giveaways
and so suddenly there will be plenty for everyone.

I will begin saying it now, and point this out anytime it manifests (and many
times when it doesn't just to stay in practice) ... look at Zimbabwe. All we
have to do, said Mugabe, is take those farms from the wealthy evil white
people and every Zimbabwean will have all that wealth divided by the number
of
Zimbabweans. Within a short period of time the motivation for generating all
that wealth that once possessed all those who actually knew how to do it was
close to zero and the country went from one of the most prosperous in Africa
to
the poorest, destitute in fact.

I earnestly believe that Obama buys his own schtick. He really thinks, like
Mugabe did, that if we didn't spend all those billions in Iraq, it wasn't
made
as profit by oil companies, it wasn't given as bonuses to Wall Street CEOs,
we could just divide that much money up by the number of "poor" and we'd all
have a bundle.

To the extent that Obama gets his "redistribute the wealth" druthers, welcome
to Zimbabwe.
