The only reason I knew the name was that around the time the green
revolution was getting lots of press I had a roommate named Borlaugh.
She wasn't related, but it was an unusual name, and it stuck in my
mind.

Don't get me started on the things that haven't stuck. I used to think
it was an exaggeration when people would say of someone that "she's
forgotten more about X than most people will ever know," usually in
reference to someone who still knew a lot about X.
