Right, that's just under 14 million barrels (580 odd million gallons) of MOTOR fuel. Just around half of all the oil we use. The rest is used for heating, generating electricity, and industrial processes such as crude refining, metal smelting, food processing, etc.

But of course an ebbing tide grounds all ships. As oil for any purpose becomes more expensive, the demand for alternative fuels and oils increases for all of them. </HTML>
