I'm sorry I don't remember the source on that. As far
as I know most of the sunlight warms the air and is
dissapated something like a room that isn't insulated.
If I remember from that and other sources less than
10% (maybe even much less) of the sun's engergy
actually is retained in the earth for any time. A
solar collector would retain something more than that.
This would only have an effect on a very large scale.
Once again I'm not suggesting that use of solar power
is a bad idea. It is something that we need to work
on.
