That was OK.

It is 192.168.1.1

Did that:
ping 192.168.1.1
neighbour table overflow
neighbour table overflow
ditto
ditto
ditto
until I hit ctrl-c

So I re-booted, ran ef2chk (or whatever its called), and did all that
again.
And ping worked this time.

Halle-bloody-lulla !!!

Well, it was ok. :(

I also noticed that the executable file /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1 is of
yesterdays date and of zero bytes.

I have an awful feeling that is not right and may be part of the problem.

I am just about tearing my hair out.

And just wait till I start trying to set this "broadband" with DOS. :(
