I got my FreeDOS image from the qemu site

This one did not work, C: is empty.

Why don't you make your own image? For example,
to make a bootable DOS image, insert a bootable
DOS floppy in drive A: and do the following:

-------------------------
dd if=/dev/fd0 of=dos.img
-------------------------

This will produce a 1.47MB image, right?

Then activate qemu and do:
-----------------
qemu -fda dos.img
-----------------

This boots from a floppy disk image on hard drive?
Can I make some image like the one I downloaded which will boot with qemu dos.img from the hard drive?

I think we downloaded Chinese DOS 7.1 as a disk image or two images - can they be used directly without the first step?

How would I make something 10MB in size so I could add programs to it? Do I make a larger empty image with dd and then copy dos.img to it before using qemu?

I am running linux off scsi drive in two computers and last I checked, freedos does not support scsi so would not work there.

Cheers,
Steven
