I asked if you could also post patches (changed files,
or update packages) to 3.30 for those of us who already
got 3.30

Is that before or after I do the floppy version?

Would this be a lot more work for you?

It would mean preparing, testing and uploading the patch.
Why should I spend an hour working on an unnecessary patch
just to save you a few minutes downloading?

If it were just a patch (or just one or two changed files) that would be a few minutes downloading for end users. If it is another complete version (with loadlin, etc.) it is 1/2 hour download or longer, each time.

every time I install a new version I then have to make all
the same changes to it - dialing and mail configuration
files, installing packages and dependencies

Here's an idea for you: make a pkg of all those changes.
Then when you download a new version of BL3, you can simply
pkg your changes.

I will try that now that I have BL3 on a linux partition. Until now I have been saving all my files on the DOS partition with truncated names. Can I also make a linux package of files over 8.3 length, package them into a 8.3 tgz file, store it on a DOS partition, and then install it and get back the correct linux file names?

Cheers,
Steven
