Finally made some time to install and test the new BL. Great work,
Steven. Loaded it onto my old laptop (Epson Actionnote, Cyrix 486 DX 4,
20MB RAM, 800 MB HD) and the loop version booted like a champ. The
install-to-hd went without a hitch after I prepared a (100MB) partition on
the drive for it. Problems cropped up when I went to download and install
some add-ons. The new kernel (486-optomized), mc and ssh went fine. The
Links2 browser seemed to install ok. But it won't run. When I select
"browser" from the internet menu, a terminal window quickly appears and
disappears. When I open a terminal and issue"links2 -g" from the command
line, I get the following:

-------------------------------------------------------------------
/<#>links2 -g
Could not initialize any graphics driver. Tried the following drivers:
x:
No supported color depth found
-------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a little LCD screen that only does 640x480. Graphics card is
chips&technology, I believe. I used the vga16 driver for it when I had X
installed previously under BL2. Any ideas anyone?

James

PS I plan on trying the gujin bootloader on this to see if it works as
advertised and might thus be of service to BL'ers who wish to boot
straight to BL and bypass problematic DOS files.
