In those days you could install Debian (and Slackware)
with just 4mb RAM. I had such a Debian setup running
before I switched to Slackware. With Debian the smallest
installation took around 30mb of HD space. With Slackware
I it was around 20mb.

Of more relevance to BasicLinux was the recent release of
a Debian based entirely on the uClibc libraries.
