Well, the operation was a success but the file transfer is not. I get the
correct line (192.168.0.0 ...... eth0) by typing route after doing the
insmods and ifconfigs on both computers, the cable is plugged in at both
ends, and I ping in both directions and 56 byte packets are repeatedly not
transferred. 0% transfer, 100% loss.

I checked with a diagnostic program in DOS and it says IRQ 10 and 11 are
both open. (Other cards, all PCI, have ended up getting installed at 11
or 12 sometimes if the sound card is at 10).

Is this a sign of a dead ethernet card? Or maybe the 100MBit PCI Kingston
and the 10Mbit Winbond ISA card don't like each other? I had no problem
sending from 100Mbit to 10Mbit both PCI. Does something else need to be
set somehow?

Four out of seven cards working is not bad. I will try to find the 3com
diagnostic program in the file that I got already.
