No, Marie. The language is VERY clear. The feds won't pay for the plans. Doesn't say they can't get healthcare benefits. Typical lawyer/politician speak.
Maybe in your part of the country that is what happens with illegals. However, the vast majority of hospital visits by illegals have nothing to do with
accidents. They use the ER as a source of routine medical care. They get a
cold, they go to the ER. They are quite knowledgeable in how ERs are
required to work and how they work. That is one of the first things folks
coming here, legal and illegal, seem to learn.
AND, I know for a fact, that hospitals don't treat accident victims by
stabalizing and shipping them home. No one is shipped from a hospital back
to Mexico and points south. In most cases they stay in the hospital they
arrived at or are shipped to a county/community run facility until they no
longer need medical treatment.
Hospitals out here and in other border states wouldn't be going bankrupt if they simply stabilized and kicked them out the door!
What I would prefer is that illegals be treated according to current federal
law! I would prefer that there be a guest worker program. I would prefer
that the law allowing anchor babies be reversed and that anchor babies no
longer be legal. I would prefer that all subsidies to Mexico be stopped
until they clean up their own government/military that are part of the drug
cartels. I would prefer that ALL drug dealers from other countries be sent
to Arizona and given to that sheriff that knows how to treat prisoners! OR
to an old-fashioned Georgia chain gang! Then chip them and send them back
to whatever point South they came from. I would prefer that illegals get no rewards (food stamps, Medicaid, WIC, etc.) for criminal behavior.
As long as they are rewarded for breaking the law there is no incentive to not break the law. Immigrants have been coming here for years and years. They had to, as the commercial goes "do the old-fashioned way. EARN it."

To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are
to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and
servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. Theordore

Illegal immigrants are prohibited from buying into any of the offered
health insurance program. However, anyone who shows up at an emergency
room will be treated, as has always been the case.
So, Lynda, do you want to deny accident victims treatment? At the
present time, we stabilize them and then ship them home. What would
you prefer?
