On the flip side of the coin..............

Parents don't always fill out forms correctly accurately, if they think they
can get away was falsifying a record in order to achieve whatever it is they
are trying to achieve.  For all anyone knows, Obama-mama could have filled
out in multiple countries he was born in each country... LOL.

And in other countries record keeping isn't necessarily kept as well as in
some other countries.

IE.  In the Bahamas, college attendence records are not filed in alphabetical
order and it is hit and miss on whether things are even filed by year
correctly.  If you wanted to find out if someone actually graduated from
Bahamas,,, trust me, you'll be spending a week going thru records.  (Been
there, done that.)

But, how important was he when he got his first passport? He probably
moved many times after that time. I'd have to get a new birth
certificate if I needed one now.

Maybe he lost his birth certificate before he met her. How often do most
people need to find it? Especially since you don't need it to renew your
passport. I hadn't seen my birth certificate for 25 years...then I lost my
SS card (yeah, I know, it's probably with my original birth certificate),
and had to get a new birth certificate to get a new SS card so I could renew
my Drivers License (like they said I'd need on their website, then they
never asked for any of the documents I went to so much trouble to get!).
