But how does that help RURAL?

I live more than 10 miles from the closest small wide spot in the road town,
and they will never build a bus, or trolley, etc. connecting us rural folks
to the grocery store in town.

There's only two very teeny tiny towns in the whole county actually (the
county is about the size of Miami-Dade County if not bigger in square miles.
There's more people living in Dade County, than the whole state of New Mexico.

Bob wonders how the raising o gas prices elps rural people (of which I
am one). It's pretty straightfoward. Back before we had two cars in
every garage we had light rail. It will never come back unless it's
cheaper than driving. Right now we have private buses from a couple of
small towns to Springfield. The same is true for Peoria's Caterpillat
north of me. Without incentive people don't change, but ewxpensive gas
will bring change.

Yes, that is the way it SHOULD be,,,,, but the pull peddlers and pull
receivers are in charge.

I have some comments to post today you'll be interested in, but want to
listen to the Schiff link first.

Back in a bit.

Leslie, when the bad players go bust, the good players collect the winnings.
In
another way of speaking; Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, AIG, GM and thousands more
should have gone bust and then the people and business who had saved, lived
frugally, invested wisely, and played by the rules would have bought the lost
assets for pennies on the dollar, and started anew. We would then have the
'true' "best and brightest" running things rather than the
self-annnointed 'pretend' "best and brightest" who continue
today to run things, today.

Rob, he would agree with what you are doing. I've listened to him for many ,
many hours and read his columns regularly over the past few years. But, in
his career, he is an investment analyst, and that is his target audience.

But his politics are purely Libertaian -- he was Ron Paul's finacial
advisor-- he believes that people should learn to take care of themselves, in
the best way possible for them. For you, your way is the best way. If I
were already to land, I would do exactly as you are doing.............
