There was a guy on a list I run who was insanely serious about the
blood type diet (he's gone now). He'd been very successful in losing a
lot of weight, so he was convinced and was devoted to convincing
others that it was the only diet to follow. I dunno. It sounds sort
of right, but I have O type blood, and I've never been a big meat
eater, but I love vegetables and beans. I couldlive on beans, and have
done it for extended periods. I really like a nice piece of steak once
in a while, but once in a while means every other month. Today, I took
a daytrip to a state park north of here where a group of my high
school classmates had a mini-reunion. We ate at the park lodge, and
they had pot roast. It was really good but it was revealed to me when
I found out that they had no horseradish that the real reason I eat
pot roast is the horseradish (preferably from a newly opened jar --
though fresh ground is best). My niece, by the age of 3, thought that
horseradish was just another vegetable.

I do think that some people do much better on high-meat diets, but I
seem not to be one of them.

Marie, who has lost lots of ugly blubber in the last few years by only
eating stuff that she likes and stopping before she is full
