Gene
Well said!!
Speaking as a Canadian, with our own political issues, I certainly agree
things in the US are a little scary. The system works when there are checks
and balances and there are precious few of those at present.
God willing, this too will pass!

Any law is ineffective unless enforced upon violation found. Our ultimate
finders are nine justices. Nine humans applying their version of what the
Constitution means. Hence the intense struggle to stack the court with
those who interpret the Court literally versus substantively depending on
circumstances.
Once the Supremes rule that an action is illegal, then the Justice
Department must enforce the ruling. But at the onset, the Supremes decide
which cases they will take. To elaborate on your apt tag line: when one
party controls the executive, the legislative, and the judicial branches of
our government, we no longer have a Republic; we have a tyranny with a
tyrant supported by partisans who may fairly be judged criminals by citizens.

Hi Marie
Sounds like you're doing a great job.
Wondering if you are a working farm or rathar keeping a few animals. I
keep thinking cheese making would be fun (but I suspect you might need quite
a few sheep or goats) to get enough milk. But artisan cheeses are certainly
tasty and perhaps finacially lucrative if done well.
The sounds of the coyotes is ominous. Are you out west??
Take Care

I just returned from a trip to the barn for bed check. Everyone was doing
fine, including Little Bit, the "orphan" kid who needs bottle feeding. LB's
mother had triplets, LB was first born, mama being new to the gig had LB in
the worst possible place. I moved LB and mama, and I thought mama had
figured out that the baby in the nice, clean straw was the same one she'd
had in the mud. Wrong. Several hours later, when I returned to check things
out, mama was tending to the two later-born kids and kicking poor Little Bit
away.
All the old tricks to fool mama didn't work worth a damn, so now I am stuck
with bottle feeding one kid. She's doing well with the other kids however,
though when she hears my voice she rips across the barn for her bottle.
I can't complain about mama too much. She was a first-timer and produced
three beautiful doe kids.
The coyotes have been horrible lately. Louie, the Anatolian, is on guard,
and if he weren't I don't think I'd have any kids at all.
Tonight the wind is still blowing steadily at at least 40 mph. We've had a
wind advisory all day, which was supposed to end at 6. Sundown generally
quiets things down, but it hasn't tonight. At least all the barn babies are
snug, and it's so windy that the coyotes seem to have taken the night off.
Marie
