Carbon fouled is an indication of either a rich engine or oil burning. Are the carbon deposits oily or fluffy. If oily then you are burning oil. If fluffy then you are running rich. Another indication is if all look the same then it is most likely a rich condition. Usually one cylinder will pump more oil than the rest.

Ash is not so prevalent in these days of low ash oil and unleaded gasoline.

Question one. Are all the plugs looking the same?
Question two. Are the deposits oily or dry?
