USB to Serial Adaptor, sold online for $20,

Where? I couldn't find one for less than $90.

I just did a google search and it came up in sponsored links. Try also ebay.

It, and every low-profile, 3.3V PCI RS232, single-port card I have
been able to find says it will only work with 2.4+ kernels.

I am using BL3 with a 2.4.31 kernel so that USB-storage will work.
I posted several kernels and configs and can modify one for you.

Thanks for info. If I can get a $20 usb-serial adaptor, I'll go
that route for now. If I have to spend $90 I'll just start buying
up 486's wherever I can find them.
At the curb. People here are giving away 500Mhz pentiums.

Off to Goodwill with BL in my pocket...

I really need to know more about hardware, anyway.
