I think I understand now. Is there some way to automate this change for other dummies, in no-xvesa.tgz, like you did with Xsetup? A menu that echoes the changed Pointer section to the end of the file?

Why are you using "Microsoft" as the default? Do your laptop computers not have PS/2 mice or PS/2 ports?
