Damn. The most likely cause of a segfault is Xvesa.
I have seen other perfectly good binaries segfault
on Xvesa.

The usual cause of that is deleting the current directory
while you are still in it (perhaps the installation routine
did this?). Try going to a different directory and see if
the problem persists.

Busybox binaries are more prone to getcwd() problems
than the full versions of the binaries. Replacing the
busybox sh with bash might help. Using the real bash
might also have a positive effect on the installation
routine (perhaps avoiding whatever is causing the segfault).
