I spoze, but you mite try going into the cmos and turning off the serial
port support for coms 1-2,3-4. I've seen motherboard bugs that affected
the uarts of modems. You might also wanna use a dos tool to copy the
cmos onto both your IDE and FD before you go mucking around in the cmos.
