Chris, exactly where is Sawtooth located? Could air survey support be
helpful from Civil Air Patrol in your area or could you use help from other
areas? Let us know. You are all in my/our prayers.

And don't forget that in all our talk this week about helmets, the biggest
weakness in my Troxel schooling helmet is HEAT. I looked at the
manufacturer's info and realized I needed a refresher. Not only have I been
lax in not replacing it every 5 years, it is not to be exposed to high heat
such as the car/trailer on a hot day. Temps over 130 degrees may damage the
impact absorbing materials of your helmet or the shell may distort and the
helmet should be discarded. Finally, the warranty does not cover melting in
extreme heat.

Troxel also says that helmets should not be exposed to or stored near
volatile chemicals such as solents, pool chemicals, paint, fertilizers and
the like as they may destroy the strapping of the helmet. Dana Snyder CAP,

Keep those in Morongo MSAR in your prayers. They are in the thick of
this Sawtooth fire- evacuating and doing searches. I know they've had at
least one member hurt- not seriously thankfully. Smoke is thick here and
we are on stand-by, been on stand by for three days. It's hard to wait
but good that we aren't needed yet. Evacuated my horses two days ago so
just have to worry about humans and houses....
