Re making ancillary NASAR training a requirement of NASAR's MSAR
standards,

I think this is unfortunate. It is a typical example of how
NASAR represents NASAR rather than volunteer SAR responders
who may "belong to" NASAR. Fortunately, NASAR is not the only
organization in North America that offers SAR standards or
training.

I am an active member of numerous professional organizations at
the state, national, and international levels. Compared to any
of those organizations, NASAR operates like a for-profit business
(in the style of a corporate training firm) that is trying very
aggressively to penetrate and saturate its market.

So, key question: Will NASAR's MSAR standard allow for NASAR
"or equivalent" training? Or will this standard allow for only
NASAR's proprietary training?
