Jeanne, you are absolutely right. We are destroying the things we need to survive: air, water, our food supply, etc. Your words reminded me of a skit by George Carlin.

The earth will go on, however, we will all be gone... just another species extincted by climate and environment change.

You are right Ray.
Sometimes I just do not communicate very well. We are destroying the planet to such a degree that OUR ability to survive will end. Like you I believe the earth will take care of itself, humans just won't get to be here.

You know, I am always fascinated by that premise, Jeanne.
I mean the supposition that we are destroying our planet. The sheer hubris behind that statement I find illuminating. We are not CAPABLE of destroying this planet. Can we make it inhospitable? Sure. Can we wipe ourselves out? Probably. Can we destroy all life on the planet? Hmm. Doubt it.
Depending on your personal; beliefs, the planet seemed to do quite well without us for a very long time, and I am quite sure it will do well without us when we are gone. Destroy it? Not so much.

Bev; I often read the Junk Science site, although I'm suspicious of any site
that sets out to 'debunk' something. Especially with global warming, you can
find reputable scientists saying whatever you want to 'prove' on either
side.

Is there a website that is non-partisan and scientific in nature that
debunks Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth?
