Basically, yeah...add some lemon, garlic, and salt-I use kosher salt for this. And I don't buy tahini. I just smash up toasted sesame seeds. A friend of mine gave me 20 pounds of sesame seeds about 10 years ago. They freeze well, and it's a good thing. Do you have any idea of how long it will take me to eat 20 pounds of sesame seeds? (I use 1 TBSP in almost all of my bread recipes...lol) That's why I don't buy tahini. I toast them for about 5 minutes and then it is easy to use a mortar and pestle with a little olive oil..
Sometimes I add basil or pine nuts...kind of a pesto hummus..it's very good.

It is not really cooking...just mixing stuff together..

Why don't you make your own garlic hummus and
fresh salsa?
So far my attempts have been less that useful. I am
learning but for some
reason cooking just does not interest me. There are
just too many other
things I want to learn.

I have learned how to make a mean garlic sauce, just
like that sold by
Zankou Chicken in LA. I have this weird idea to try
it with sweet potatoes.
