St. Hollywood gives us one method, with a variation. While the bread is cooking, the one doing the bread-making starts singing and those present join in, singing harmony. The variation, not as acceptable, since it is considered "country", is for everyone present to join arms, dance around the table, singing, while the bread is cooking.

However, as Lynda notes, THE preferred way to show appreciation is to sit at the table and eat to one's heart's content. Purring is automatic.
