Dang! Poor our Lynda :(
We left NorCal just as the energy prices began to skyrocket 7 years
back.....and came to a place with rates that were like it used to be
there. Our electric is some of the lowest in the land, and gasoline was
2.89-2.99 this week, even up here in the mountains.
I don't know if i could take those CA prices anymore.
Hang in there, Cousin Lynda........your area is so beautiful, it is worth
it! I almost moved to Humbolt County several times, as my bro has lived
there 30-some years, and we always loved it (i wonder if you know him - a
visible character in those parts). I didn't move up north because of the
economy in those times. So - egads, wound up moving to Appalachia, where
almost everyone is poor. Go figure. It is very hard to make a go of it
here - even when there is any employment availablefolk make about 6-8.00
per hour at anything not requiring college ed. Worth it, all around.
Toni - a CA'n in KY for life!

%ppppp Our electric IS the lowest in the country <g>

Speaking of "up here in the mountains," we have yet to figure out why our
gas is always lower than those places around us. Not that we're
complaining, heaven forbid, but it sure seems strange when you figure they
have to truck the stuff from the Bay Area up to Redding and then another 2
plus hours up in the mountains to us.

Lynda, who wishes she could afford to still live in Humboldt County!
