Bev, Wonderful news for you guys.......i never thought about signing
up for various alerts.

Thanks Toni, yeah, I like the alerts-they keep me up on things I want to
follow. Very often stories I am interested in get buried by some stupid
story that I'm not interested in. I like geophysical things, so I sign
up for volcanoes, earthquakes, tsunami, climate, etc. I follow the
North Korean situation closely, so that's an alert, too. I have a good
number of alerts, especially now that I am using Firefox and
Thunderbird, separate applications. In the old days, under Netscape I
could click back and forth between mail and the web with ease, but now,
I find things run smoother if I close Firefox and leave T-bird open.
The alerts that come into mail are an easy way for me not to miss
breaking stories. I guess I am just a news junkie. :)
Man, it is really windy here today. It's beautiful and sunny and clear,
but bone chilling.
