What about a military consumed by it?

Take for example Lt. Gen. William G. "Jerry" Boykin, the Pentagon's senior
military intelligence official, who has violated at least 3 internal
regulations while speaking at 23 religious-oriented events beginning in
January 2002 while in uniform. Remarks at those gatherings included a
depiction of the war on terrorism as a battle against Satan; included
"President Bush had been placed in his post by God" and that "the U. S.
military is recruiting a *spiritual army* that will draw strength from a
greater power to defeat its enemy".

And then he CBS's 60 Minutes where he was interviewed by correspondent David
Martin and defended his comments before a congregation in Dayton Florida
that "my God was bigger than his [Allah]. I knew that my God was a real
God, and his was an idol."

Prior to his speaking tour, Boykin organized an event for Southern Baptist
Pastors at Fort Bragg NC on
April 22nd and 23rd, 2003. The event was promoted as part of the "Super
FAITH Force Multiplier" evangelism program of the Southern Baptist Lifeway
Ministry. According to promotional materials mailed to pastors, "we must
find a group of men who are warriors of FAITH, pastors who have the guts to
lead this nation to
Christ and revival!"

What is of interest is that the materials also promised unprecedented access
to the military base, including heavily secured areas, a Special Forces
demonstration with live ammunition, and a visit to the "Shoot House" to
learn how Special Forces attack the enemy inside buildings.

Which all hangs together with the current push by H$LDA to pass HONDA.
Farris is a Baptist minister, Boykin was a speaker at Patrick Henry and
H$LDA is promoting military recruitment and enlistment of homeschooled
students. Why? To assist their mostly Christian Fundamentalist members to
be a part of the current admin's efforts to recruit a "spiritual army"
perhaps?

Seems to me the residents comments connect the dots and lead right to the
"Warriors of God's Kingdom" as a "Spiritual Army."

Listening to God doesn't bother me much. Bush, like
anyone, is entitled to have his faith and believe in
what he wants.

What bothers me, but just a little, is the foolishness
of talking like that to people of a different
religion, in such a delicate situation, like it's
reported he talked to Abbas and the Palestins. Those
guys are already convinced we Christians want to
annihilate their culture, talks like that by a top US
authority are bound to make things worse.

But hey, compared to the rest of what I believe he is
doing to US and the word, talking about our Christian
God to Muslims is not even an issue...
