That is good. I emphasize: The filesize of the audiodump.wav FIFO
does _not_ need to change for this to work. It can stay at zero.
If, instead of playing the audiodump FIFO, you run

-----------------
cat audiodump.wav
-----------------

Does this produce garbage to the screen? If so, MPlayer is working
correctly, and play is not handling the FIFO correctly. I don't
know why?

Yes. I have yet to find a Windows Media file which it will refuse
to play due to a missing codec. The video part works great, too.
Much smoother output than Windows Media Player itself, IMO.

Wow. Good connection?

It handles Ogg files, both Vorbis (musical audio) and Theora (video).
Vorbis appears in roughly 90+% of all .ogg files. There are other
Ogg formats, too, but they are rare. If you find a FLAC or Speex file,
you will need the specialized players.

Good.
