I tried zipping it. I think I also tried gzipping it. Not tarring it
because it is a single file already. The zipped version had the same
md5sum number before and after transfer but unzipped to the wrong number.

Okay. But I can't use BL3 at both ends to transfer fs.img because I need
to transfer it to have BL3 (at least the DOS loop version).

If I install from floppy disks I won't need to transfer fs.img. I am sure
something will work.
