Well, that's what I did. I have no idea what to do with a .bin file.

A codec is the key to reading/decyphering/displaying a video format:
COding/DECoding = CODEC.

I think you will find that MPLAYER is the closest, at least it will
play .wmv files as well as mpeg/avi/mov/qt and the like.
