We're not becoming more political, the OTU keys are preventing any
political BS that may happen. Someone may think, that's new to the
project, "Ooh, all 7 of those people voted for him, so I should..." We
want to avoid this by not making it known who voted for whom. We're
simply trying to avoid potential conflict by making the votes a bit more
private. Personal conflicts can get quite political, that's really the
only way it'll happen in the SMGL community, because it's not like they
can punch someone and then talk it over. Sometimes that works better
than IRC or mailing lists because emotion makes it into the words and
people understand each other better. By making the votes a bit more
private, we alleviate the potential for conflict and thus avoid the
difficulty of resolving said conflicts over mailing lists or in IRC.

And that's my $0.02 on the matter.
