But do you sincerely think it is a lack of testing ? I think not. You
only need to cast openssl and then try to launch some softwares to
notice that... Since the beginning of July, I think the people who
updated the package should have noticed it.

I updated openssl to 0.9.8 in devel grimoire on 2005-07-11.
I knew there were some problems with apache2, ruby, ... so I did not integrated it.
After apache2 and ruby was updated to be compatible with openssl 0.9.8 and after proposal to integration [1] I integrated new openssl to test grimoire on
2005-08-31 (nearly 2 months). There were no bugs on bugzilla and nobody was against it.

There is the same problem same as with openssl 0.9.7 [2]. I always recommend to use "sorcery system-update".
Of course if there is some problem in test grimoire "cleanse --fix" resolve it.
And acording to ledger [3], openssl is installed on 5 boxes, so I am not alone.

One of solutions of this kind of problems is to copy/install old library (one file) from /var/cache/sorcery [4].
If there was some support in sorcery ...
But I am really happy with "sorcery system-update".

Yes, binary distros might have some advantages but Source Mage is the best one for me. :-)
