In only a 12' diameter space I'd have to agree with dward, that an herb
spiral would be the way to go! You could always add in some veggies too -
bush beans/peas for N-fixation upslope of a heavy N feeder like broccoli,
greens, or squash, with tomato or cukes hanging over the edge in the
appropriate sun sector....
So many options. Do have fun with it, and post pictures!

Hi Dward,
Moved here from MA. It's very very very different here, and very lovely in
its own way.
I definitely want to grow herbs, so I'll check out the concept of herb
spirals.
No good place inside to grow sprouts. I've got some cilantro growing in the
window and it's very leggy.
But, we have a very long growing season down here so I'm sure I can do some
sprouting on the porch.
Thanks for the idea.

oh, this sounds elegant and beautiful.
I don't know what N-fixation or N feeders are yet, but I'm sure I'll learn
in short order.
I just watched a 6-part video on Bill Mollison and am deeply inspired.
Thanks to all of you for your input!
Blessings and good eating!
