Aloha,

You will have to lose that serif font though... ;-)

Not a problem.

Just helping Stephanie out... ;-)

Color of that search form background doesn't float my boat.

Yeah, its a bit of a baby blue color. How about shift the hue over to green? orange?

I was thinking more an earthen color...green might go OK also or might be too much like the header. Whatever...the bluish one just seems to clash IMO.

Thanks for the comments. I'll work on it this week.
Should I take up this role and let Chad get back to schemas and code?

If you've got the time and Chad is willing to let it go I definitely support that. On with the DB!!

IOW I don't support letting the functional core of the project (the plant DB) languish due to micro-designing the web site at this point in the project.
If the site is done with best-practice separation of presentation and content and with some kind of server-side web app platform that offers good templating/macro facilities it can be reworked for look and feel any time relatively easily compared with the core work of getting a functional PC-centric plant DB online.

Accessibility and content are my main concerns for the web site.

The choices of colors and fonts and shadings and backgrounds and other eye candy are going to be loved by some and hated by others - here and among our eventual users - regardless.
I'll only get stubborn about them if IMO they cause accessibility issues.

If you do take on the web site stuff, valid XHTML 1.0 transitional is the thus far uncontested nomination for our coding standard.

cheers,
John S.
