Liz,

You might try looking for a pair of jungle boots at your local army surplus
store. They tend to do a good job of letting the feet stay dry, but aren't
real great as the weather turns colder. There used to be a store in Mt Airy
that carried them, don't know if it's still around or not.

There's also a boot called the Matterhorn (I'm not sure if that's the
manufacturer or the model name) that has a polypro layer in the construction
and does a good job of wicking up the moisture plus keeps the feet nice and
warm. Mine are in basic black and served me quite well for my last 5 years
in the army and are still in good shape. A tad expensive though.
