In my experience reducing complex topics down to liberal/conservative labels is a tactic employed by those who aren't interested in real discussion. The terms have no real relevance towards any potential subject, excluding parody, and have only taken on meaning because of Republican political strategy. One problem with the ranks of the Democratic party of 15 years ago is that it was geographically diverse, with strongholds in the South and on the coasts. Republic party strategists hit upon the idea of wooing Southern voters from the ranks of the Democratic party by playing up cultural differences between the different geographic regions. The terms liberal and conservative has lost any potential meaning they might have had are are now mere codewords used almost entirely by Republican activists.

If you are interested in actually discussing subjects, then you are welcome. If you are simply going to be cutting and pasting urban legends then your email address will go straight into the KILL file.
