I was waiting for the discussion to get to this point. My guess is that a
defensive strategy would be a profession that requires physical presence or
locality knowledge.
lawyers - knowledge locality (state or national). I wouldn't want my
paperwork handled in Uzbekistan even if it was $20/hr.
sales - cultural knowledge/relationships. maybe? If it all becomes Dell-like
ordering centers, maybe you could outsource it.
pastry chef - physical presence. We have yet to have the technology to 'scp'
over a scone.
what else?
an offensive strategy escapes me at the moment.
