SS was a Ponzi scheme from day one.

Want to guess what the reaction is going to be from the baby boomers and the
next generation after that when the gov't finally stops paying out SS
benefits?

I didn't say "invest," I said savings accounts.  Although they aren't paying
what they once did, had all the money gone into a simple savings account
there would be plenty of money.

Gov't beaurocrats are the last person you want "investing" your money,
absolutely the last.

Whatever the case, it's disrespectful. I didn't like the disrespect of
Bush, Clinton or any of the others. I guess Nixon really earned his
disrespect, but in my mind, a person in authority does not earn their
respect. It's granted.

Whatever the case, we agree that the country is in the toilet. It's a
good time to be homesteading and I'm putting all bets on this place
being my most valuable investment.
