I was just trying to say something constructive ; to be encouraging. I have no clue what is it like to be in your life (I imagine gender makes a difference that I can't even recognize).

You will figure something; I thought bev had good ideas. I read that people meet on Craigslist, but I've also heard thaere is a lot of improper behavior of which a person must beware, so I didn't mention it erarlier.

One thought from a male perspective. If you do meet someone, with whom you really 'click'. Before you tell him he is about to become a 24/7 farmhand: first, at least, tell him his sideburns look nice ;-) .....bobford

Seriously, it's hard to get to know someone who lives
far away. Anyone can
sound good in emails or on the phone. The guy in the next
county that I
dated was great in email...we were like twins separated at
birth. We liked
all the same things, had similar ideas about things, wanted
the same things
out of life. Once we got together, it just didn't
click. We are about 2
hours apart, and after a while it got to the point where it
wasn't worth the
time or gas to see each other. We had both been totally
honest about
ourselves, but what worked in email didn't work in
person.

Homesteading is the kind of lifestyle where you REALLY have
to be on the
same page as your partner. My ex and I tried to live
separate lives, but it
doesn't work. If the person I was considering was
further away, it would
be even harder to get to know them.
