The reason a 12 ga. is such a good choice is that you can use anything from a
light load bird shot to scare away the neighbor's dog to a rifled slug to
kill a bear, and anything in between.

Like that a .357 revolver is a good consideration since you can load it with
low charged target wad-cutters all the way up to heavily loaded
anti-personnel
hollow points.
