Might as well read as much of the bad news as possible. This is a very good time as seed orders are completed and sent. Go to:

and then, in the third graph, click on "report" (by futurist Peter Schwartz). The report is a pdf file so I can't give a url for it.

My view is that oil depletion, global warming, and stupid politicians are less of a problem that probable reactions by moderns who are pretty much unprepared for anything beyond the norm and will panic easily, especially if the pain comes fast.
